Pasta Fresca Il Rasagnolo di Traversini - Umbertide

Just a block from the COOP you will find the most delightful fresh pasta shop. Hours are sporadic but when you catch this gem open, you're guaranteed a delicious meal. The pasta is made fresh daily on the premises and we highly recommend the fungi ravoli and orecchiette (ear-shaped) pasta and their home-made sipcy arribiata sauce.

COOP Supermarket - Umbertide

There's a great grocery store in Umbertide with everything from food to wine and beer. Helpful hints:

  • The COOP hours are posted "between 8:00am and 7:45pm Monday to Saturday, although in the winter it is closed Monday mornings until noon. Sometimes in July and August it is also open on Sunday mornings." So Italian! 
  • The COOP shopping carts require a 1 or 2 euro deposit to guarantee you return the cart (great idea, right?). Simply feed the coin into the top of the cart and and it will release the cart. After shopping, return the cart and the coin will be returned.
  • Everyone wears gloves when touching fruits and veggies - they are provided near the bags in the produce section.
  • They also weigh and price veggies in the veggie section, not at the check-out. There are weigh stations throughout the produce section that will print out a tag with the weight and price.
  • The best bread and meat is behind the deli counter.
  • They charge for each shopping bag so bring a re-usable bag (most houses at the Borgo have a few already).
  • Credit cards are accepted (Visa, Mastercard, Amex)

Prada Outlet (Space)

Prada outlet oustide Florence - Take the A1 to Valdarno exit. Pay the toll and turn right - follow signs for Montevarchi or Centro. At the big round-about with a COOP Supermarket, exit left. Then continue towards Arezzo. Pass through Montevarchi and Localita Levanella after the village passes a gas station and followsigns for I Pelettieri D'Italia in the "Zone Industraile: on the left. The sign for the outlet is at a traffic light. On your left is a huge gray factory that is all Prada and the outlet is in the back of the main factory complex.
